Volunteering is a niche area in the non-profit/community and voluntary sector and it brings together people from all walks of life to give their time for free in their community. There are many ways to volunteer and the first step is contacting your local volunteer centre or www.volunteer.ie. There were over 1m people age 15+ volunteering in Ireland in 2013 which is a credit to our country. With over 19,000 community and voluntary groups in Ireland there is a huge  choice to pick from when considering volunteering.
